The Joplin girls golf team finished with three players in the top 10 en route to winning the team championship at the Cassville Invitational on. McDonald County won the A game 42-39 with Chayton Reece leading. He also volunteered as a driver for Joplin Association for the Blind. Host McDonald County won two junior high school boys basketball games against Cassville Thursday. Glenn was a member of the Joplin Senior Center where he often played pool and participated in field trips. He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. Donna entered this life on September 27, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of the late Edwin Paul Hitchcock and Devota Helen Major. Glenn was a career machinist and worked in small precision tooling. Donna Pauline Hodson, 88, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life on Sunday evening, July 9, 2023, at National Health Care Center in Joplin, after a brief battle with cancer. On May 20, 1956, Glenn was united in marriage to Mary Lou Fanning and together they had two daughters. He was a 1952 graduate of Golden City High School. Glenn was born March 11, 1934, in Jasper, Missouri, to the union of the late Hugh and Faye (Bird) York. Surviving is one son, Ryan Russell, Bentonville, AR two daughters, Corie Hengst (Kyler), Fairfield, CT, and Whitney Russell, Joplin his ex-wife, Kim Owen Russell, Joplin granddaughter, Avery Hengst, Fairfield his mother, Norma Scott, Joplin brother, Buford Lee Scott, Topeka sisters, Rebecca Scott, Joplin, and Cynthia Wilken (Ron), Ft Worth, TX. He was general manager at Jim Spicer Cadillac, Joplin, and had worked at several other area car agencies. He graduated from Topeka West High School and earned a bachelor degree at Washburn University. and Beatrice Normadine "Norma" (Beckwith) Scott.
